EMHSeed Call for Proposals

The Vice Dean, Research for the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering recently annouced the 2020 launch of the Joint EMHSeed and XSeed funding program to promote inter-disciplinary research collaborations. This program aims to catalyze new innovative partnerships between researchers from FASE with researchers from the Faculty of Medicine (FoM), UofT Affiliated Hospitals, Faculty of Arts and Science (FAS), University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM), University of Toronto Scarborough (UTSC), as well as other Divisions.

This call will fund up to 15 new collaborative projects beginning as early as September 2020 between a FASE coPI and a coPI from FoM, Affiliated Hospitals, FAS, UTM, UTSC or other Divisions. For additional details and eligibility requirements please refer to the Call for Proposals available here.

The maximum annual budget for each Seed project will be $60,000 CAD/year for a maximum of 2 years. This amount is the sum total of cash invested by the collaborating Faculties and units.

The annual budget for each EMHSeed project will be $60,000 CAD/year for a maximum of 2 years. This is the sum total of cash invested by the collaborating Faculties and units. 

The Department of Medicine will contribute up to $7, 500 per year for two years for a maximum $15,000 of support per project up to a limit of five successfully funded projects. If more than five DoM projects are selected for funding, support from the department will be assigned by rank order as determined by the adjudication committee.

• The completed Application Form
• Letters of support confirming financial contributions from partner Departments/Institutes
