Graduate Studies Endowment Fund (GSEF)
The Department of Medicine has several Graduate Studies Endowment Fund (GSEF) awards and a Provost’s PhD Enhancement Fund (PPEF) available to full-time graduate students with supervisors in the department. If you are uncertain if your supervisor has an appointment in the Department of Medicine please search for them in our faculty directory.
These awards are typically awarded to trainees accepted to the Eliot Philipson Clinician-Scientist Training Program (CSTP), however in cases where there are no current CSTP trainees in a given area other graduate students associated with the Department of Medicine may be considered.
All GSEF awards require a 50% match for the amount requested from the award fund. For example, a $6,000 award would require a $2,000 match amount in order to request $4,000 from the award. If you are not enrolled in the CSTP program and would like to apply, please connect with your supervisor about securing potential match sources PRIOR to contacting the Department, via dom.research@utoronto.ca.
Please note that not all awards are given out each year and available award amounts may fluctuate from year to year.
