Education Research & Scholarship
What exactly is Education Scholarship?
There are many definitions and frameworks available, but the most concise and relevant comes from the Canadian Association for Medical Education (CAME):
Education Scholarship is an umbrella term which can encompass both research and innovation in health professions education. Quality in education scholarship is attained through work that is: peer-reviewed, publicly disseminated and provides a platform that others can build on.
There are several accepted categories of education scholarship, including teaching, curriculum development, learner assessment, mentoring/advising and leadership/administration.
