Emergency Medicine: Dr. L. Morrison Honoured With Two Awards
Congratulations to Dr. Laurie Morrison on receiving two awards:
European Resuscitation Council Honorary Member
Dr. Morrison will be awarded honorary membership to the European Resuscitation Council based on life-long commitment and leadership in resuscitation care. Dr. Morrison is the first Canadian to receive the award.
2017 Dickinson W. Richards Memorial Lecturer
Dr. Morrison has been selected to receive the 2017 Dickinson W. Richards Memorial Lecturer awarded by the American Heart Association’s Council on Cardiopulmonary, Critical Care, Perioperative and Resuscitation (3CPR). This lecture was originally established and presented in 1973 when the council was known as the council on Cardiopulmonary Disease. Dr. Richards shared the Nobel Prize in 1956 with Drs. Andre Cournand and Werner Forssman for work leading to a practical method of cardiac catheterization. The award will be presented at the AHA’s Resuscitation Science Symposium in Anaheim California from November 11-13, 2017.
