The 15th annual Toronto Psoriasis Seminar (ToPS) and 41st annual Robert S. Lester Postgraduate Seminar took place on November 22, 2019 at Women's College Hospital. Co-hosted by Drs. Perla Lansang (Director, Undergraduate Education, Division of Dermatology, University of Toronto) and Vincent Piguet (Department Division Director, Dermatology, University of Toronto), the day-long event had a theme of "Skin Inflammation" and was well attended with 135 participants in total.
Our panel of esteemed national and international speakers lectured on topics such as surgical intervention in hidradenitis suppurativa, microbiome and gut disease, cardiovascular disease in psoriatic patients, hand eczema, and chemoprevention of non-melanoma skin cancer. Other notable talks included a presentation from Dr. Alice Pentland (University of Rochester) on using medical record data in EPIC to analyze skin diseases and another on the role of the nervous system in initiating skin inflammation by Dr. Dan Kaplan (University of Pittsburgh).
The organizing committee would like to thank everyone who attended for their participation, attention and feedback, and once again acknowledge the invited speakers who contributed significantly to the high level and success of the ToPS & Robert Lester PG Seminar program. We look forward to seeing you again at future events!
The Division of Dermatology would also like to express gratitude to its sponsors - AbbVie, Bausch Health, Celgene, Eli Lilly, Pfizer, Janssen, LEO, NAOS, Novartis, and Sanofi - whose generous support of our 2019/2020 Divisional activities made hosting this important educational event possible once again.
