Dermatology: Toronto Psoriasis & Robert S. Lester Postgraduate Seminars

On November 30th the 14th Annual Toronto Psoriasis Seminar (ToPS) and 40th Annual Robert S. Lester Postgraduate Dermatology Seminar was held at Women’s College Hospital with a theme of Immunity & Inflammation of the Skin.

Dr. Lansang and Dr. Piguet would like to sincerely thank everyone involved for their participation, input and attention - the feedback we received was overwhelmingly positive. Holding the ToPS / Postgraduate meeting at Women’s College Hospital was a change from previous years and our speakers contributed significantly to the high level and success of this event. This year's educational meeting focused on psoriasis and other inflammatory skin diseases, discussing a variety of topics from novel science for skin and gut inflammation to clinical care as well as perhaps less evidence-based areas such as diet and skin diseases. 

Thank you to all of the speakers from the Dermatology Program (Drs. Scott Walsh, Neil Shear, Phil Doiron, Raed Alhusayen, Jensen Yeung) who contributed to the event as well as Dr. Mark Silverberg for an excellent talk on the microbiome and immune disease. We thank especially our international speakers: Dr. Michel Gilliet (University of Lausanne) and Dr. Ron Prussick (George Washington University) for their participation in our meeting, for the excellent lectures they gave and for stimulating discussions and sharing some thought provoking hypotheses on inflammation and skin.
