I hope everyone is safe and adjusting as well as possible in this uncertain and unprecedented time. The COVID-19 pandemic may be the most acute public health crisis some of us will ever experience, and I would like to express my gratitude to all members of the Division of Dermatology for rising to the increasing COVID-related challenges each day brings.
In particular, I would like to acknowledge our Program Director, Dr. Phil Doiron for his excellent management of the Dermatology education portfolio and adjusting activities to maintain the highest possible level of teaching for our trainees, as well as Dr. Trevor Champagne, who as our City-Wide Lead for Virtual Care has implemented various initiatives in record time to best meet clinical demands. I also thank all of our faculty members volunteering in various COVID-related activities such as assessment centres, and our administrative staff who are being redeployed in various areas to address hospital needs during this difficult time.
While the division's normal activities have slowed down due to the COVID-19 situation, including many modifications to education and research, there are still a number of virtual care and teaching initiatives being implemented, as well as updates on recent successes in research and the status of several upcoming events. I hope this newsletter will be informative; we have included some COVID-19 resources below and encourage people to follow specific directives from their hospitals. Thank you to all our newsletter contributors and readers, we hope everyone stays safe and healthy.
