Nine Department of Medicine faculty members have been named on the Web of Science Group's 2019 Highly Cited Researchers list. This list recognizes "the world's most influential researchers of the past decade, demonstrated by the production of multiple highly-cited papers that rank in the top 1% by citations for field and year in Web of Science."
The Highly Cited Researchers are among those who have demonstrated significant and broad influence reflected in their publication of multiple papers, highly cited by their peers over the course of the last decade. The list is made up of over 6,000 researchs in various fields from nearly 60 countries.
