The CCS held a very successful annual meeting in Montreal last week. For those of you who were able to attend, I'm sure that you will agree that this was fresh, different from the usual, and was very engaging for all participants.

We are particularly proud of Dr. Dinesh Thavendiranathan, who was the winner of the CCS Young Investigator Award for 2016. Dinesh's outstanding achievements as a young investigator were duly appreciated and celebrated. For those of you who were able to be present, this is an important recognition of his contributions to the University of Toronto and the Canadian Cardiovascular community.

I hope and trust that you will be able to join your colleagues in the Canadian Cardiovascular community at next year's meeting in Vancouver.
