Description: |
This is a primarily medical fellowship dealing with complex inflammatory wounds as well as the precursor conditions that lead to them. As such, time will be divided between wound care clinics at Women’s College Hospital treating primarily inflammatory wounds (vasculitis, pyoderma gangernosum, vasculopathy, multifactorial wounds) as well as complex medical dermatology at Toronto Western Hospital. Clinical time at Women’s College will be split between dermatologists and vascular surgeons; there will also be opportunity to participate in minor surgeries for hidradenitis suppurativa and procedures involving other chronic wounds (malignant and inflammatory). The fellow will be expected to participate in research 2 days per week, supervising medical students in epidemiological research and participating in our ongoing clinical prospective cohort studies and/or clinical trials.
