Description:

The GIM Heart Failure Fellowship at UHN is a 1-year fellowship designed to enhance heart failure knowledge and skills for internal medicine specialists in the care of patients with heart failure syndrome. There will be a mix of outpatient clinics and inpatient heart failure consultations where fellows will:

  • Learn the interpretation and application of diagnostic procedures.
  • Be proficient in initiation and titration of pharmacological therapy.
  • Establish longitudinal relationships with patients with heart failure syndrome that spans across the disease spectrum (ambulatory - inpatient and transitions of care). 
  • Have an approach to the care of patients with advanced heart failure in the community (referral pathways to subspecialty services).
