Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Describe the key challenges facing academic medicine today.
- Discuss ways in which academic medicine must redefine its mission of education, research, and clinical care.
- Review crucial changes academic medicine must make in embracing convergence science; data science, and digital technology; increasing community engagement and social awareness; and preparing its workforce for the future.
- Describe the importance of social determinants in influencing individual health outcomes, population health, and health equity.
